Experiments in typography

So busy working on MATS Editorial Week! Time flies by! Type isn't my forte, so I traced some of my favorite fonts and mixed them up with flowers and an unusual color combination for me. Here's where I live right now. An intensely complex city, still shaking off a violent past that keeps on being portrayed in the media as a current thing. It's such an enchanting place, the weather is great (spring year round), fresh fruit everywhere, the people are so friendly it's kind of ridiculous, a truly cosmopolitan city with amazing natural wonders all around it.

This one took quite a while to make. Pencil, ink, and scanned textures from old books.

Geometric Hare and Owl

Here are my two finished ink illustrations of the geometric hare and owl.

A little clip from my Vine app. I'm done with the hare...now I'm wondering if I should add some color to it. What do you think?

I've been working on some new illustrations recently. This style is actually a bit different from what I normally do, but I am so happy with the results so far. These are done with ink on Canson paper.
